Councillor Steve Bucknell is Wootton Bassett's Mayor for the Civic Year 2009-2010 and his Mayoress will be Allison Bucknell.

Owen Collier is Sword Bearer and Town Crier.   The chosen charity of the Mayor is The Richard Jones Foundation.

 The Ancient and Honourable Town  Criers Guild Championship 2009 took place on Saturday 13th June 2009.   The standard of criers were excellent and varied but the judges agreed that Kevin Ward, the Town Crier of Bromsgrove, West Midlands should be crowned champion.

Congratulations to Kevin Ward and all the wonderful Criers and Escorts who took part. Thank you for a wonderful and colourful day.
